I worked diligently on the auto mall issue on behalf of the homeowners. Your Dec 26, 2007, issue rated the “Top 10” stories for 2007. Number five was the auto mall issue and I believe your newspaper’s assessment of the reasons the auto mall failed are wrong. In that column, you state that public outcry “drummed up” by the Churn Creek Bottom homeowners group was the reason the project failed.
Do you really think that the majority of the Board of Supervisors are so naive that they did not thoroughly research and accurately evaluate the auto mall project on its merits, or lack of?
Your arrogant opinion of the reason the auto mall failed falls well short of unbiased journalism.
Sincerely,
Rod Evans, member, Churn Creek Bottom Homeowners and Friends
