The Cubs swimmers did not have the day they were looking for Wednesday at the Division II finals hosted by West Valley, but that did not stop them from giving it their best effort.
"Our best performer of the day (individually) was Allison Lafayette. As a sophomore in only her second year of ever swimming, Allison dropped almost two seconds in her 200 Individual Medley time, 2:52.04, to place 10th overall," said Don Williams, Anderson's swim coach.
On a sad note two of Anderson's faster qualifiers missed their races because they were in the wrong lane and couldn't get around the diving board in time to start.
"This was a sad way for them to end their season, and I'm hoping the issue of diving board interference will be discussed at the next section swim committee meeting," said Williams.
The Anderson swimmers who missed their races are Makayla Taylor in the 100 back and Josh Gibson in the 50 free.
