Among the many wonders of our very creation are the special gifts that each of us have been endowed. At even a young age, we grow starting off with these qualities. Slowly, we tighten our hold, growing into each individual quality.
The gifts flourish throughout our mind and body when we live and breathe. Development of these gifts will pursue us if we choose the correct path for our lives. We each develop an inner lightness of being as we become mature adults.
What is a dream? In my opinion, we express through dreams the things that we, as little kids, have always wanted to become in order to feel complete. That overwhelming feeling that comes into your brain like the rush of a windstorm.
For example, I have this passion to write. Being young, this was kind of out of the ordinary when compared to everyone else. I pushed myself to try to let my words be seen. At 16 years old, I now write opinion columns. All because one day I decided to walk into the office of the Anderson Valley Post.
Since then, my passions and abilities have grown and will increasingly get larger because of the confidence I had in my childhood dream.
The hard-hitting feeling comes from the misconception that we can only conquer these certain dreams when we are age 5. But that is where we are wrong.
Anyone, anywhere, has the upmost capability of overcoming that 5-year-old's hopes or fears and turn their life upside down. Whether it be a child's dreams to be a movie star or work in a bookstore - dreams from narrow to wide, large or the smallest of small - are all of equal quality and importance to our souls.
