Freshly caught crab from the Trinidad coast will soon be making its way to the Cottonwood area. The crustaceans will be featured guests at a delicious crab dinner to benefit the Cottonwood Community Library.
On Saturday, Feb. 4, doors of the Cottonwood Community Center open at 5 p.m. for no-host cocktails.
At 6 p.m., bowls of delicious homemade clam chowder, salad, French bread, cracked crab and dessert will delight hungry participants on hand to show appreciation for the library and all the programs that the library provides to the community.
Each of the last two years, Jim Seale, Bradd McDannold and a crew of crab wranglers furnish a packed house with the most delicious fresh crab.
“This year, without exception, will also be a sell-out. Word has gotten around the community that we have the best all-you-can-eat crab dinners and I have no doubt that we will be sold out before the day of the event,” declared Gayle Harrington, Director of Library Services for the Cottonwood Community Library.
“It is a fun evening of visiting with friends and neighbors who attend the dinner. It is served family-style so it is nothing fancy, just great tasting food for your money. So come down prepared to eat some great crab — we will provide the bibs,” says Harrington.
Tickets are $35 per person, and are currently available at the Cottonwood Community Library, 3427 Main St.
